FAN MAIL!!!!!!!

Some lovely words of encouragement from people:

  • I simply adore the smitten cd. is there any more smitten material available or is this all us nice twee fans get for now? :pout:

  • You get a lot of fan mail, don't you? I just wanted to give you all props on your album - Stellar, it's awesome. I listen to it whenever I'm driving, cause it's the perfect music to speed to. Anyway, I thought I'd drop a couple lines to express my gratitute for displaying such talent!

  • Woohoo! I'm psyched to see the NYC/NJ and Philly dates, no matter how sketchy. Rest assured I will drag along as many folks as possible. I took _Stellar_ with me on a ski trip last month and it was a big hit among my companions. They asked me to play it again and again. Oddly enough, they were mostly Japanese, as in, from Japan. Perhaps Japan represents a great untapped market for swirly pop.

  • Hi there. I've been listening to you guys for a while. 'connected' was one of my favourite songs of '95. I love your lead singer. I would marry her, I think. Keep it up! keep playing, and maybe come to Canada. A short story you may find interesting: I made a mixed tape of rock songs to entertain myself on my journey last spring to Eastern Europe. One side was called 'boys', the other 'chicks' (I'm not unpolitically correct even though I reject politically correctness as a general rule. I'm a modern man of the nineties, and as the feminists do, I have taken the word 'chick' and I use it to empower me in this day and age). Anyways, at the BEST hostel in Budabest, Hungary (they have a 24 hour bar which is way cool, is you pardon my juvenile expression), I got the bartender to play the tape, which of course, had the 1 smitten song (surrounded by Stereolab, The Breeders, Ivy, etc.) and played it in the bar. People were tapping their feet! When I left Budapest, I gave the tape to the bartender (he bought me a beer for it). So I'm absolutely sure that song got regular air play in Diaksportzallo hostel in Budapest for the greater part of 1995.

  • I am just writing you this message to let you know that your album sounds great and that I have listed it as one of my adds @ WUMD College Radio for this week

  • Well, I really don't have much to say other that I really miss and look forward your next show . I also wish to purchase some more CD's for my friends. Thanks for such awsome music, and your shows, I look forward the next one.

  • Got the Smitten CDs today....Love it ... :) By the way, I heard one song from the college radio here once (Amber, I believe), remembered the name, "Smitten," for six months, then found your website. I just thought I'd let you know that out of an hour of listening to college music, I only remembered the name of your band. Man, I love good music. Thanks a ton.

  • Well, I got my order for _Stellar_ last week. It took me a little while to warm up to it, because it's less echoey and a bit more restrained than the EP. But now I just can't stop playing it. I'm on my third spin tonight. I can't get enough of "Take You For a Ride," "Ordinary Day," "Beauty Is" ... as well as pretty much the rest of the CD.

  • Just had to write again....I can't believe how knocked out I am by your band's CD. The opening track in particular, but the whole thing too. It's been a long time since I've heard a song as beautiful as that first one. What an incredible melody on that chorus. It's UNBELIEVABLE. I must have played it 100 times yesterday. In fact I played it for a few friends and they want to buy copies of it. My brother also wants a copy. How much are they? I may end up ordering several more from you after it reaches a few more ears.

  • I'm a college radio dj at KTEC here in Klamath Falls, Or. and I play your CD every single week. Man, I love it. Are there any other bands you would recommend for me to try and get that have a similar sound?

  • I was just wondering what the status of Smitten is. I have the self-titled, 4-track ep from last year and love it with a passion. It's one of those rare sounds that can transport me to another world -- definitely my favorite release of 1995. Is there an album out? Does Smitten play live at all? Let me know. The ep is great stuff; if there's more to be had, I want it!

  • just thought i'd drop you a line to say hello and say once again how swank it was to have you all down to visit and play. hopefully we can do it again soon! the cd is so damned good -- i'd forgotten how much i enjoyed it when i reviewed it. I hope the rest of the tour went well and you've arrived back home safe and sound! thanks again for stopping in little old indiana...

  • Just wanted to say thanx for the CD that you or your 'people' sent us. It's actually one of the best unsolicited albums we've received in the nearly five years we've been doing this.

  • Smitten are great. . . Plaguer Recordings is a little label ... we are interested in distributing some copies of the Smitten album 'stellar'.

  • ......you know what else is pretty neat? your band's album, that's what..it's been in the heavy rotation ever since i got it in the mail..

  • You can send more if you like :P I have been playing the wave files found at the web site to my buddies here. They're all impressed. Oh, and hey, when do you think Smitten will be releasing another album ? :) Also, do you think there's any chance of them coming to play in Bozeman this year or next ? :) It's a college town, so I am sure more than a couple drunks would show up :) There could be a lot that pop up ;)

  • i just checked out your reformed site....very nice job. i enjoyed reading the tour diary and looking at the pics.. i feel all warm and cozy inside. okay, im being silly. i hope you enjoy working on the new album. please tell me when its due out so i can promote it like a madgirl on my college station at ucla.
